I have a 1949 Lincoln Cosmopoliton that I am redoing. here's my problem I would like to change the automatic transmission (which is a GM because Ford didn't make one then) to a newer type such as a C-6 or C-4 which one would be better for driving on the road for gas mileage and overdrive. Would I need a new bell housing for the new tranny
It seems to me that I recently read something about an adaptor that would fit an AOD to a flathead.
See if I can come across it again.
