transmission
Hi I'm building a 57 chevy truck and the motor have about 475 HP and I like to put a overdrive
transmission in it but I don't know what one to put in one guy say 200R4 and one say 700R4 but Thanks

Use the 700r4 , but only if it is 1988 or newer. The early one burnt up and broke. I used up two of them. I loved that tranny with my 3:73 rear gears. Smokie burn outs, and 1600 rpm`s at 65 on the freeway. I allso have a 57 Chey p.u. as you can see. I have learned that the 200r4`s are for a light weight vechicle, an will not take abuse. I would find a 88 or newer and put a shift kit in it.With mine you push a button on the dash to engage, and stepping on the brake will desengage.
Never attempt to haul a heavy load or tow with it engaged.Their cool!!! Slider in Wa.
