Transmission and Idle?

2000 Chevy Silverado 2500 4WD 6.0 litre

Can a cold transmission effect your idle? My truck idle bounces when I put it in gear when the transmission is cold. The idle is fine in park or neutral and is fine in all gears when the tranny warms up.

I inherited this truck about a month ago. According to the previous owner, the idle started doing this when he took it to have the rear seal replaced. According to the work order, they also replaced the "trans switch" whatever that is. He took it back to the mechanic and was told they could not figure out what was wrong with it, but they did nothing that would cause it.

The ECM is not throwing any codes. The exhaust has been redone and cats removed. The exhaust was done a year prior to this problem, so I do not think it is the 02"s. I have replaced IACV, TPS, temp sending sensor, and have cleaned the throttle body and intake. Mass air flow sensor and EGR are good. I sprayed carb cleaner around the intake to check the manifold gasket. Fuel pressure is within specs.

Any ideas??

Thanks,

Steve
