Transmission Information.

I have revised this thread to include both manual AND automatic transmission information.

I'll have to start out by apologizing to you Ford, Mopar, and everything else guys. I have a strong GM background, and the rest isn't really greatly covered on the internet.
If you know of something that should be here shared for everyone, let me know and I will try to put it in here with credit going to you for sharing it.

I put this up as an identification thread to help us all out.

I will try my best to describe the link contents for ease of finding the information you may need.

Doesn't this little dude look like he's smashing a bellhousing?

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION PAN IDENTIFICATION BY SHAPE & BOLT HOLE COUNT.

I unstuck my "The Chevy TH-700R4 Transmission." as it was added to the ranks of the Knowledge Base with it's own page.
The sticky thread I had on here is located at the following link.
http://hotrodders.com/showthread.ph...0R4+Information

The TH-700R4 Knowledge Base cluster is here:
http://hotrodders.com/kb/transmissi...s/TH-700R4.html

This TH-700R4 information has been around for as long as I can remember but I can't think of why I did not post the link in here before now.
Thanks to *Frisco* for the reminder.

Here is the difference between the TH-250C and the TH-350C. Thanks to *tnsmith10* AND *Crosley*
Quote:
The TH-250C will have a stud with an adjusting nut on the upper right side of the transmission case for the band in the area of the cooler line fittings on the p****enger side of the tranny and it protrudes from the case. The TH-350C does not.

The TH200-4R is identified by 10 bolt holes and 2 dowel-pin locator holes on the universal bellhousing. It has a dual "universal" bolt pattern for both Chevrolet L-6, 90º V-6, and all V-8, and BOPC (Buick, Olds, Pontiac, Cadillac) applications. The TH200 has only six bolt holes and 2 dowel-pin holes.
There are rumors/myths/urban legends of a TH-350 with the "universal" bolt pattern, but many hours of searching on the internet and asking other members here on Hotrodders.com have resulted in nothing conclusive. Yet!

Page 2

Sometime in the future I will have enough information to deem a second page necessary, I will most likely seperate the automatic transmissions from the manual transmissions.

So I decided to give my Transmission Information sticky post a "page 2".
