FWIW I have had much better results using the later-style "boot" seal than the earlier O-ring type seal. IIRC the last one I did used the late boot seal and the early O-ring dipstick, but check to be sure the tube fits tightly into the later boot seal if the tube is the earlier O-ring type.
Be sure the retaining tab that holds the tube in isn't bent from removing the engine and trans w/the tube in place. If it is
bent, just tweak it back so you can reinstall it w/o the bracket causing the tube to be forced out of position from the bracket being bent.
