Use a cork gasket and 3M weatherstrip adhesive instead of RTV or silicone. Make sure all surfaces are clean, really clean. Don't overtighten the bolts. Make sure the pan flange is flat and the bolt holes are not deformed. If they are, flatten them back out with a small hammer. Are you using a stamped pan or an aftermarket aluminum? I prefer the heavier aluminum style myself.

I agree with S10 racer, just be sure not to use too much adhesive so it can not get inside the trans.

Be sure the retaining tab that holds the tube in isn't bent from removing the engine and trans w/the tube in place. If it is bent, just tweak it back so you can reinstall it w/o the bracket causing the tube to be forced out of position from the bracket being bent. Later "boot" seal: |

Talked to a friend just now, he remembers me having to use a later tube w/the boot seal- but that the later boot seal AND tube fit the earlier case.
