Transmission noise

I had my th350 rebuilt in my 70 pickup, I noticed it now has a rattling, clicking sound that is intermitent like the bendix is still engaged and hitting the flywheel. When I turn the ignition off then back on it fixes the problem I got under the truck while it was making the noise to try to find the source but no luck everything looks cool and the sound seems to be coming from inside the case but im not sure. Anyone have advice?

A couple things you could try are:
1. Disconnect the ignition coil, and have someone "bump" the starter little by little to see if anything is contacting where it shouldn't be, this is also a good test for the starter solenoid to see if it is bad too.
2. You could try turning the engine over by hand to see the same thing you are looking for in my first suggestion, but this doesn't help find bendix problems.
3. Remove the flywheel dust cover and see if there was any unwanted contact, this will also help you see more areas this unwanted contacs could be coming from.
