I was told over at www.moparts.com that this flexplate is jeep/engine specefic(spelling) so i guess i cant use a summit flexplate , and my jeep has an audi 4cyl, so this outta be fun.

Yes a broken flexplate can cause a no movement. The part still attached to he block can spin and not turn the transmission at all.
The last broken one I had would catch sometimes and move the truck (albeit very slowly), but it smelled hot. When I removed the trans, the flexplate was busted. The center was loose all the way around and you could see the wear marks on both piece from spinning. |
