Trick TH350 for a dirt track car......

How would I go about hollowing out a 350 tranny to be direct drive(with some kind of clutch mechanism) to run in a dirt track car? I'm thinking no loss of power thru normal slipping of AT, plus a really good way to run a very light flywheel! Need to get this by tech if possible. I have heard of this mod to a Powerglide...but not a TH350. How to do it is the big question.
Thanks

In the one I saw the internal clutches were still used. The Torque converter was replaced with a Centrifugal clutch.

Was it a TH350? The reason I ask....I have "heard" several references to doing this trick to a Powerglide, but not a TH350. We can run either tranny in the class....just need further info on how-to-do-this-mod. Seems like it would be like using a standerd drive with a very light clutch!
Any more suggs?
Thanks

Yes, it was a TH350, I've heard of this done to Glides also. There's a few old threads on here about something similar but, I think I remember it used a Dummy Torque Converter and other Pump Mods. Not sure if parts are still available. Try doing a search in the Trans/Rear section. I'm sure someone will know more about it than I do.
