Tried to Set Idle on Mazda MX6 "Real Horror"

My kid ask me to bump up the idle a bit on his 2.5 liter MX6 Mazda. I said sure I looked around saw the adjusting screw turn it in a bit the idle went up by 100 rpm and everthing was well, so I thought. In a few minutes the engine started idleing in the range of 400 rpm to 800 rpm seems like the computer was going crazy. Now what! Any Ideas on how to fix ???

Rolm, put the screw back where it was,the computer sets the idle, you probably have a dirty thorratle body fuel system etc., that car doesnt have adjustable idle speed
