Good Evening. You are correct. It was 167 races ago. I wonder how he will do with his new Ford program. I have met him and talked over a couple of beers. Very bright man. It is all yours Dave

Tractor trivia

At least four tractor-makers are in the car-making business. In each case it is a farm-tractor company, who have entered the car - market (Unlike, for example, Ford, who started with cars and later made farm tractors)

Can you name at least 4?

I can only think of two that are still in the car-making business; Mahindra and Lamborghini.

But there are several that have tried making cars and gave up:
John Deere - Velie Motor Cars

Case

International Harvester

Of course, International still makes trucks to this day, but they gave up on cars long ago.

Tractors

OK Joe - the floor is yours. The ones I was thinking of were Mahindra, Lamborghini, International Harvestor and David Brown Tractors of England (the DB series of Aston-Martins), but you got at least 4, so the floor is yours!

Thanks, Dave. That was a great question.

OK, Next question:

Here is a part from a '50 Dodge car. What is it?

'50 Dodge part

Oh bleep!

My Dad used to have a 50 Dodge, and a friend of mine has one, but both are (were) the Canadian Dodge with virtually NOTHING common with the US Dodge, so I can't even ask my buddy if he recognizes it.

No clue what it is

(just to confirm the views of everyone that always suspected that I am a bit clueless anyway.... )

Does it have anything to do with the window crank or inside door handle?

No. In fact, it is not found on the door at all.

Here are a few more hints.....

You would find exactly four of these on a typical '50 Dodge car.

They are visible from the outside of the car.

I've looked at every pic I could find of a 50 Dodge.(hope that's legal) and only thing I could find four of is the hubcat/valve stem as Brian said. They do look like they might have rubber marks on them. Or possibly the bumper guards..two each on the front and rear. Possibly a spacer for the guards that allow some adjustment.

You are correct!

These serve double duty; they protect the valve stem from being damaged by the hubcap, and they also help prevent hubcap creep.

Nice guess, Brian, the floor is yours...

That is so wild! After all the years cars have been made, all the zillions of models and makes and that is the only car I have ever seen with anything like that, bizzare is all I can say.

I have nothing right now, give me till tonight and I will have a question.

How about right before the Corvette was available to the public? A prerelease 53. Back when I was just a kid.
