Come on guys, what's the answer to the last question. I've read all 127 pages and now I'm hanging out for the last answer, and everyone decides to clam up on me.

Tony, Australia

PS Ooops, sorry, you guys must all be in bed, it's 10pm Wed. here, but then I'm on the underside of the World !

I believe I had the right answer, it was the uniside, made by the Budd company. They first offered it to Ford as the XT-Bird, Ford turned it down, Budd changed the name, and sold it to AMC in 1962as the XA-400, I think that was the name, it's in my 1st post. In 1963 AMC made the 1st standard cars to use it, the Rambler Classic, and ambassador. I have it all in my 1st post, i'm just waiting like everyone else to find out the answer.

The reason for it was two fold, they could take a standard production model car, and by rearranging high volume parts and create unique assemblies, and produce completely new vehicles with a minimum of new panels and modifications.

Very good! Terraplane has the floor. You guys are way to smart. Took me three weeks to think it up and two minutes for someone to answer it. I first saw them on the early seventies Honda 600 coupe.

What City can you not put a car on the road, after it gets to be 8 years old?

Trivia

Seems like wherever this place is, it might be a good place to shop for used cars, that are about 7-8 years old?

I know that in Japan a car can't have body damage either! And I believe there is a life span that is allowed. This is the reason you can get low mileage motors so easily for Japanese cars. I think it is something like a 50K limit and they have to be taken off the streets, something like that.

Japan

I have also been told (not sure how reliable the source is ) that to get a driver license in Japan, the written exam includes questions on how the car works and how to maintain it. I stand to be corrected on THAT however!

Well if close by is a hint it can't be near to LA, because that would be Mexico and we know better. How about South Korea. Seems like that might be in their plan.
