London to Brighton started in 1896 run on 1st Sunday of Nov.

The London to Brighton event changed routes in 1984. You are correct, The London to Brighton race is older. The event I am looking for is located in the same country.

The first London to Brighton run was in 1896, but the second one wasn't until 1927...so it really wasn't "continuously staged" either.

The continuously running does not include "war time". So I guess to modify. Continuously running except war time. Dave you hit it on the head.

Oh my Goodness, it's a 55. If my dad hadn't shaved the emblems on his 55 I would have known that.
