TJ, good guess, and OH SO CLOSE!

But technically, the Boss 429 is a "semi hemi" since the valves are not directly across each other like the 426 Hemi and the combustion chamber shape. I know I may catch grief on that one.

Here's a hint, it was NOT a limited production engine, per se, like the Shotgun or the 426 Hemi, but it did have dual carbs on it.

Here's another hint. The engineer that designed this engine also designed motorcycles.

Is this a V8? I can't think of one that's not been covered, so I'm wondering if it's a 4 or 6 banger?

Hi
Ford engine designs with hemispherical chambers included the Calliope, which used two in-block cams, arranged one over the other, to drive 3 valves per hemispherical chamber. The push-rods activating the valves from the top camshaft were almost horizontal.

That engine was a racing engine that never saw track time because of a rules change. We're looking for a regular production engine.

HINT- The engine we're looking for was offered in two sizes.

Desoto? But it came in five different sizes. 276, 291, 330, 341 and 345.

The Desoto is a Chrysler parent company Hemi. We're looking for a pushrod, Hemi V-8 that was not made by Chryco.

C'mon y'all! I'm dropping hints like crazy here!

Alright, alright.........The engine was offered in a two seater sports car that shares its name with a Dodge product. Now I know someone should get it now.

DINGDINGDING!!!!!!!!!!

You are correct! The Daimler Hemis were used in the Dart (2.5 L) sport car and the Majestic Major sedan ( 4.5L ) along with the Jaguar clone 250 ( 2.5 L ).

The floor is yours.
