That is a damn neat car and what a tragedy that fire was, hopefully no one was hurt too.
I am going to be a little vague on this one afraid that the right words would be found in a quick google.  What very rare Corvette (C3) had an odd combination of a performance option and a luxury option? Brian

I'm not talking L-88 aluminum big block stuff. There are a lot of degrees of "high horsepower". This was known as one of the high horse small blocks.

Nope, we are talking options like power windows, that sort of thing with a high performance motor, a high revving high performance motor, it didn't "match" and only a couple hundred were made. I have a friend with one.

One more and I should know the answer to a Corvette question, don't know what year but is it a year when hp was way down but the Corvete was chosen to pace the Indy 500 and the engines were changed to be able to run fast enough?

I may have owned one, a 1970 LT1 or a 1969 I forget the designation but a 427 ci. tri-power maybe an aluminum engine.
You guys are driving me crazy, I said I wasn't playing anymore but it is frustrating being a student of Corvette history and don't know the answer. Garrell

I'll give it to you, 1972 LT-1 is I believe the only engine ever offered by GM with solid lifters and AC, it's your floor.

Trivia quize
First off the first LT1 was in 1970 but I guess ac wasn't avaialble until 72 so I was close anyway.
I gave this question to someone and told them they could use it because I would never get it so if it has already been used let me know and the person I gave it to should disqualify himself, but you know I don't remember who it was. Question: What was the first high performance car or it was suppossed to be, to have a factory supercharger in the modern era of automobiles since World War11?
