!.

I've got some Chilton's going back to the 30's and they had advertizing in them. What I found interesting about these advertisements wher that they are from the beginning of the 1900's. Want to start your own car company but don't know how to build your own engine and transmission? Just order them from your friendly engine manufacturer and you'll be in business! I wonder how many did just that.

Hell BB: not as many as now! Their doing it now every where and on here some of us recommend crate builds!! The high schools here just had an uproar, the state ordered no more engine and trans build. classes! Because in the real world shops order engines most don't rebuild any more!! the shop teachers were in an uproar!

I was wondering how much longer it would take to orchestrate such a thing, back before telephones. Send a letter, wait for a reply, send another, etc. etc.. It would take weeks of correspondence to accomplish what we can do today in a few minutes.

You gave too much already! I'm sorry, I had to Google it and figure no one else is going to know without googling either. If anyone comes forward who knew that answer I will give up the floor to them and they should have the floor for about 10 questions!

It's a Kirk "Yale". Never heard of it and I have been thru a bunch of automotive museums.
