16 cyl opposed or flat engine was what I was looking for. Yes that is a real engine although it is a Porsche prototype for their 917 PA Spyder.

It's yours Brian.

What American made car has the year of the car proudly displayed right on it? We are talking right there on a part of the car it says 19XX. I have no memory of seeing this before or since on any car, ever. I saw this part at a swap meet this morning and thought it would be a good question on the trivia thread. Though I know one of you is going to know it immediately.

I'm pretty sure I know the year and I think it was a GM product. Possibly your favorite.

The year was 1976 the Bicentennial and I believe it was in the grill of a Buick.

That's what I remember.

I don't know about that 76, wow, my dad was selling Buicks at that time I would think I would remember, that don't mean it doesn't exist but I don't remember. Nope, I am thinking of another one. It wasn't connected with anything, no anniversary, no nothing. They simply put the year there, very odd indeed. The first one I saw years ago I thought it was so corny and done by the owner of the car (like "Teen Angel" painted on the quarter) but nope, every one of them came from the factory with this year emblazoned on it.

They did do that, I remember. I figured you guys would come up with some others that I had forgotten. But this is on the outside of the car very clear and simply the year, no connection to anything.
