You got the car right sort of. It would be 240-280Z This particular car was a 240Z I believe. Ok, so you have that, what it's for you are not right, what if it's an automatic, no clutch reservoir then. And you can see the brake master has full access without that panel opening. What about the other side as well? The ZX didn't have these panels at all by the way.

I have had several of these on my lot ,it is hard to remember all of them ,as I remember the battery is on the other side under a panel also ,the 240 .260 and 280 had this panel on drivers side for master cylinder acess also radiator reservoir tank was there also ,you cold get to them without opening the panel door but it was easier to open it ,I had a 280 zx Turbo annv. black and silver it had two vents in the hood not the fenders, the best I can remember ,,but my memory is not that good ,I would have to go back to pictures ,I kept pictures and extra keys to ALL car since I sold Buy Here Pay Here. the reason I said 280 it appears to be fuel injected ,I think the 240 and some 260 were carbureted ,the 260 was 1 year only I think

It's your floor. You got enough, it's the windshield washer reservoir on the left one I believe.

I really like these little cars, always have since riding my bike down to look at them in the show room floor.

I have an odd story on these little "doors" we are talking about here. I bought a basket case 64 Vette around 1986. The vents on the B pillar were missing. These vents are a pot metal piece with all four of them being different.

So I had found a couple of them, one from each side but still needed the other one, I think it was the bottom ones on each side. One of these Datsun Z cars came into the shop and it had the Vette vents I needed installed on these access doors! I asked about them and the guy said sure, you can have them, replace the doors with ones without the hole and keep the vents. I did just that and got my vents.

They did all have two doors, up until the ZX. And yes that bottle over on the left side is for the windshield washer I am pretty sure.

Looks like we were all correct Windshield washer bottle was under the left panel but so was the clutch cyl. The brake master cyl was exposed with just lifting the hood. Right side had the Battery.

Probably it would be the 1969 Vette with the legendary aluminum 427 ZL-1 engine. Power ratings differed by whose writing the artical. Highest I remember seeing was 585hp. Only 2 were built. You could order one but you couldn't get one. As I remember both cars were very late releases in the model year.

Where's Garrel.770 when you need him? He'ed know for sure!

Strange thing, RACE versions are limited to 580 hp so GM has to detune the race cars for competiton.
