I am talking about my 65 Gran Sport. He never said "Corvette" he merely said "Chevrolet" so if my Gran Sport had bolts in 65, so did a Chevelle.

OK sorry guys, I guess I should have been more clear in my question. I was referring to full size Chevrolet/GM cars. I am not very well versed in Corvettes, so 496 may very well be right on the years they changed. I was looking for 1965. As far as I can find the 64 impala, and others had plates, the 65's had striker bolts.

As for the reason why they changed, that was not part of the trivia question because I don't know the answer either. I cannot find an answer. I would have to assume it was safety related, but I have to think it may have been a cost savings as well? Anyways, Sorry again for the lack of clarification on my part.

Brian, you were the closest to the answer I had in mind, so the floor is yours

That was one year I think in Calif only (I might be wrong on that). The 49 state cars got underpowered 350's. Calif got the really underpowered 305. 1980

Those are GM "Futurliner" buses and the people are gathered to look at GM's look at the future. It was called the “Parade of Progress.”

You know that when I read a book on marketing back 20 years or so ago Chevrolet spent more money on marketing than any company on earth. When you see what GM did with the Parade of Progress, Autorama, Futurerama, Motorama and the like.....it's easy to see the roots that were planted long ago!

I hate that, crap!

Ok, what about this, what Chevy small blocks didn't have even spaced bolts on the valve covers? We are talking four bolt covers, the spacing between the bolts were different on the top than the bottom.
