Ok I give up!The Buick convert is a 54 not a 53. Look at the Dagmars and headlight trim. 54 not 53.
Wasn't relevant to the question.
When I googled 1953 Buick Century it said. "Move along little man, your bothering me."

i WOULD HAVE SAID 54 BUT THAT HAD BEEN TURNED DOWN.

Any way my question. What was the first official White House car, what year, what President ordered it?

No sir wrong president, wrong year, if you were saying the car was white not sure, but if you were saying the name of the car was a White, nope.

Bob

P.S. took a look the car was Black.

After submitting my answer I did look it up and I was correct saying McKinley was the first president to ride in a automobile. Unfortunately that was not the question you asked. As far as the make of the automobile I'll change my answer. I believe it was a 1954 Buick.

BB You were almost as far apart on the car as you can get. LOL But you will have to try again. And you are right on one thing, I didn't ask who was the first President to ride in one, but to order it.

BB I'm wrong you did name the car 1/2 way, as it was a White Steamer, so you got the white. now what year and who ordered it.

Bob

Just got back from supper on our clubs cruise night. After a couple beers I cleared the cob webs..

in Feb `1909 the senate approved 12000 to purchase a presidential vehicle William Taft ordered a 1909 40hp white sreamer and a 48 hp Pierce Arrow limo they received the Pierce arrow in match making it the first presidential car,
just a note they voted down the cars in January.
