Looks like a SB intake, maybe 57-58 283? I would also think it is a pretty rare piece.

yes it is a 57 -283 very rare indeed used on corvette ,competition coupes later in the year replaced the fuel injection on nascar ,some used 1 4 bbl also,,the idea was better fuel distrubition,

In 1968 GTO offered a euro ,rebber bumper similar to the 69 Camaro

one year 66 or 67 offered mechanical linkage on tri power instead of vacumn

and I think 1970 offered a hood tach ,not sure

ben to many years memory is failing ,too lol

I should have read the question better ,I didn't notice 1964

the GTO was offered as an option an the Lemans Tempest in 1964 only

starting in 1965 is was a GTO identified by a D on the bottom corner of cowl tag( some thing to look for on a clone )

but still no id # to separate it from base mode;s

Brian, the item I am looking for is not as obvious as the hood.

496, You are right I should have been a little more clear with the question. I am looking for the 64 only item that most people would probably not notice in the GTO "optioned" Lemans
Actually I had never noticed it until it was mention on a Barrett-Jackson auction.

Mine was a 65 I think it said 6,5 litre ,iy might have said gto also I don't remember I sold it

Ok aparently there were a LOT of one year only 64 GTO items . i was looking for 4 spoke steering wheel, but since there were so many, 496 go ahead with your question.

their were 4 sterring wheels offered in 1964

a 3 spoke a 4 spoke wood a soft grip and a standard plastic.

not saying it was or not offered other years.
