We're all familiar with Ala Kart, first shown in 58. It was expressly built to win Oakland Roadster Show. What was it valued at?

Less then just my TCI chassis and complete fendered and hooded Brookville body at the then astronomical figure of $15,000.

I'm seldom a liker of custom rods, but this was/is my all time favorite.

In a 1958 interview with Dick Peters, He stated the car was valued at
17,000$.

OK!!

Ford had some engines that they used in the Lincoln, Mercury and the Edsel. There are several displacements, but there was and even more interesting design that actually was shared with the 348 and 409 W block Chebbies. There was one part of this design that was unique though. So to make this "interesting"
1 What were the CI displacements? There were 4 different.
2 What part of the design was 'shared'?
3 What was unique to the FoMoCo design?
4 What were these engines called?

(and yes, the Wikipedia has the information though due to my ancient age and work experience at a L-M dealership knew all but #2 )

Really.
1) 383,410,430,460
2) Combustion chamber/piston surface shape
3) Inline valves instead of staggered
4) 383 is Marauder and 430 is Super Marauder.

These weren't the answers I was looking for but for sure acceptable though there is part of one wrong

1. 462ci is the correct answer not 460
2. My answer = Head surface was flat and pistons determined the c,r,
3. My answer = The block top surface was at 10* to the cylinders
4. The Marauder engines were used in the HiPo Mercury's. MEL is the engine designation (Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln) = my answer.

So with that said, you are IT!!
