We started a trivia thread over at another forum and it has been a lot of fun.
Here are the ground rules. It starts with one question. The first reply with the right answer gets the floor for a new question. It continues like that unless, A) the person who has the floor doesn't ask a new question, or B) no one gets the correct answer. In that case, the person with the floor asks a new question. No more than one question on the floor at a time, and discussion/clarification is welcome until the floor is taken over by a new question.
First question: In the 1952 Indy 500, what type of fuel was burned in the record-setting pole-position #28 car? Hint: it won pole position by a full 4 mph over the second-place Ferrari
I'm full of it, no doubt! If I can come up w/anything, I'll give it a shot but most everything I had that was even half-way 'good' I've already posted. And everything else is too easy for y'all.
Interesting . The fender mounted light monitoring indicators through fiber optics monitored head lights, tail lights, licence plate lights and turn signals. one unit on each front fender and one on the package tray. Part of the RPO U46 light package. Only installed on 1755 units. Cost $26.35. I don't remembering ever seeing one.
Not my turn I had to look it up.
I hate to jump right in here but I am blown away that I would know this. It's a 1970 Plymouth Superbird. I am miles from a Mopar Dude but LOVE those cars and remember staring at that goofy mess once at a show.
I have to assume it's for a super rare vinyl top car? Or do others have it too?
Dan, I am going to give you this one even though I was looking for a little more, like the other two cars that used them, one of them being totally different than the others. You want bonus points?
They were called California Special GT/CS.
Only a five month run, designed by Shelby Automotive (while working with Ford). Only 4118 units produced. The first one of those I saw was pink!
Where in God's name did you find them?
Yep I was talking to you. I had forgotten that the light assy originally came from the 65 T-Bird. I was thinking they were Cal. Spec. only which would have made them very dear. But since they were used on the T-bird also probably everyone has half a dozen in their junk. Never mind.
I always thought that T-bird body style was probably the nicest one Ford made. A Candy Apple Red convertible with a white interior, top down, man they were pretty!
The Buick ain't bad either, duh, I guess not. :drunk: One of the most stunning cars ever made!
I didn't like the Thunderbird until I got old. :drunk: Honestly, I didn't think a thing of them but now I think they are a damn cool looking car. It still blows my mind that these cars were unibodies!
