I can't read a few post or emails then type a reply and remember who posted what but someone was all around the correct answer. There were other low points like with any car that has a total change the first year is usually bad as in the 1968 Corvette, all the bugs had not been worked out yet. There was actually not a 1983 Corvette offered to the public and again the 1984 was a platform change and you can hardly give an 84 model away.
BUT officially the 1980 California Corvette was voted the worst ever and was voted onto the list of the fifty worst cars of al time.
The California Corvette only offered a smog equipment ladened 305 c.i. engine with a turbo 350 transmission and you could not even get a stick shift car. With a 305 with an automatic tranny and lots of smog pumps it deserved the 85 mph speedometer it got that year.
So who said 1980 w/a 305 and automatic you have the floor.
