I had one one my 55 Buick Super 2 Door Hard Top ( hear that Brian?). GM called it the "Wonder Bar" style radio. It also had search bad on the face of the radio. Power windows also. The floor button looked just like a second headlight dimmer. You could hold it down and the radio would search. Not only that to engage the starter you simply depressed the gas feed all the way to the floor. Pretty neat in 55!. Of all the cars I've had these years that's the one I wished I still own.
The switch for the radio on the floor, Ive never seen one , how many years was it available? I remember the "wonder bar" but not the floor switch
I worked at ford ,lincoln, merc dealers in the early 60s and I swear I cant remember I do remember the greasers this is embarrassing!!!!
Ill wake up at 3 am and wake up my wife yelling "hey I remember that switch"
