They were done away with when engine manufactures were mandated to no longer pollute the planet. That's when PCV valves cam into play. Basicly the first form of smog control.

MAN I was going to say that on my first post but then thought you wouldn't put anything that easy on here!!! And it looks like it was brazed or welded where the flex tube goes on instead of the original pipe It threw me off

If only I could have enlarged it !!! Well lunch is over be on later.
