Have not heard much about them lately though. My first car was a V8 60 powered '49 Morris Minor. I gave 90 dollars for it in 1961. Will always have a soft spot in my heart for the little motors. Don't even have a picture of the little car.

BTW, I don't know why it was used either, but a guess is the light weight of the 60 didn't require the stronger (more expensive to make?) forged I-beam axles that were the norm. But whatever the reason, it is an icon today.
