trouble with my 96 chevy truck transmission
I have a 96 Chevy 4x4 truck. I am having trouble with the transmission. It is ok and drives fine it you are driving in town or on the highway for that matter. When I have to the trouble is when I am trying to pass some one and I put the pedal to the floor. The rpm's shoot up but the truck doesn't go faster. Then out of no where it does. but if I just give it gas and gradually push it farther to the floor but don't floor it t is fine. it does this in drive and over drive. I didn't know if I needed to get it rebuilt and it is close to needing the filter and fluid changed. I will say this it does have 200,000 on it but it still runs like a champ just not when I am trying to pass. Also I am afraid to do any pulling with it acting like this. so any help would be greatly appreciated
