I agree with "67Elcamino"...I don't care for the stuff on frames either...I think the down side might be worse than the results your looking for. If you have a thin coating of whatever paint on it, it may be a good idea to remove it and spray it in a black Epoxy...double check but if I'm correct SPI's Dark Epoxy does have some UV protectors in it...it may be a better way to go as Epoxy is used as a rust inhibitor.
