I just wanted to get some opinions on different kinds of spray in bed liners. Which one is the best value I'm a college student so I kind of need to find something I can afford. Also if anybody can recommend a place either here in Lubbock or in my home town of Dallas that will do a good job I would appreciate it.

My opinion is get the plastic insert. Dont know what you will be putting it in but, when they do the spray in the first thing they do is strip all the paint out of the bed to bare metal.

Maverick; Can we get insert liners for our Advance Design trucks?

Thanks for the suggestion Maverick, but the reason I want a spray in bed liner is because the bed is already scratched up a lot. Its a '98 Dakota that I just bought this summer and I don't want the bed to start rusting. I thought if I got a spray in bed liner it would seal all the places where it is scratched down to the bear metal. I'm sorry I probably should have said all of this in the first post.

LOL! Well Willy why cover up all that nice bed wood. Wait! just had a idea how bout a bed liner with simulated bed wood on the bottem.
ZZ call around to some truck suppy places or the local Dodge dealership and see who they recommend. That would be a good place to start. Some of those spray ins can be tinted to the same color of your paint job, also. Good luck! |

I don't know about your wood but I wouldn't call mine nice! 8 year old yellow pine w/ many miles of wear tear and outside exposure.

Mine was the orginal from 1949! And there wasnt much left. Since yours looks bad then the bed liner with simulated bed wood would be for you! I got to figure out a way to do that! I could make millions. LOL!

Maybe even $hundreds!! Built a '42 Willys pickup for a friend and we put polished stainless sheet w/ stainless Chevy bed strips. VERY impractical but does it look good.

nobody said you cant spray primer over the scratches then install the bed liner. they also make the "rhino coating" you roll on yourself, it's like $100/gal.

Bull, love the truck man. I has to be practical for my use!
That do it yourself stuff at Lowe's or Home Depot is good stuff. It was on sale for $69 a gallon not too long ago. Just be careful to mask where you don't want it. This sh...stuff is unforgiving. |

Hey Bull, when you say "roll it on" are you saying that you can use a paint roller for the Rhino? I've seen the cheap stuff at Auto Zone, but I didn't realize that they sell the higher quality liner goop in the stores.

whoa, NELLY! you can roll on with a paint roller the cheap stuff, i think it takes like 3 coats to equal rhino liner and neither one is as thick as line-x. you'ld have to ask Madd about how the roll on compares in thickness to rhinoliner cause i am just goin on how thick it looks like the cheap stuff goes on, i never used it. i only just found out that rhino liner and line-x were two different species.
