Truck cab dolly? (Off frame)
Working on a 57 chev truck. Finished the chassis last winter and starting on the cab soon. Right now the cab is sitting on a flat snowmobile trailer. I'd like to build a dolley with wheels, one that I can tip forward and backward about 45 degrees so I can get better access to top and bottom. I have 4 pneumatic tires on rims that are about 10-12" in diameter. The rims run on 1" rod. I was thinking of using these with the idea being I can wheel the works onto a flatbed to take the unit to the paint shop. Casters wouldn't roll onto the trailer very well.
Has anyone ever built something like this? I'm just looking for a starting point to get me going. |
