Truck/Coupe
Has anyone put the front of a truck, say cut behind the door 1" and grafted a coupe body to it , say a 40 s truck 39 coupe, to get the 41 willys look with a truck front , just a thought for somthing a little different as i have 2 vehicles to do it.

I have seen online.........
......a truck body with a handbuilt coupe rear section.
What make and year of bodies are you considering grafting? |

47 ihc to 39 Dodge coupe

I have to tell you, the 39 Dodge coupe is such a beautiful car I can't imagine doing this. Do you have a 39 Dodge without a front end or something?

I'm not sure what advantage it would be grafting the bodies. Why not leave the coupe intact, and add the '47 IHC fenders and hood. |

The IHC truck is also beautiful, so adding the coupe rear would compliment both

Every hotrodder has a vision of what he builds so heres my idea, drive what you want LOL

They might be beautiful but anything can be made even more beautiful..Nobody but you will see what it CAN be until you do it ...then and only then will anyone know if it was a good idea or a very bad one...My 48 ply was a pretty nice looking car as is but there was a few things about it I hated and some I just didnt like so I changed them but no one had a clue what I was talking about until I did it ,Now they can see and most really like the changes ,not everyone but but thats normal...Go for it..

I always thought the third brake light in my 02 Impala would make a cool looking set of tailights in my biz coupe....when I talked about doing it no body got it, some said why, some said it wont look right so I ignored them and just did it...Now I cant imagine the car without them. but since then I widened the rear fenders 2" and need three on each side instead of two so it looks right...I simply cut the steel around the light of fourdamaged deck lids then grafted them on... Beauty is in the eye of the beheader... |
UVU car show
I plan on going south next week to the College annual car show-scholar ship fundraiser. I googled it and found it listed under the Thanksgiving point calender uvucarshow 25 th . At the end of the commercial the Dually Willys is just behind the green el camino the students run at Bonneville.

lites are rite
deadbodyman Those lights look right, someone stole the tailites off the 48 Nash behind the barn, another someday project. and I was thinking of frenching in some kind of lites and frenching in the door hinges. I haven't seen anybody doing that in years. everyone was shaving off the handles and going to hidden hinges.
|
a 48 Nash? you got any pics?
the hardest part of getting my lites in was they are flat and my coupe is curved ,getting the steel in was a piece of cake but I had to boil the lenses in water and bend them while hot ,eyow (hot potato, hot potato), then when they were the right curve I ran them under cool water...An old plastic bumper repair trick...it worked ... |
