trying to find a decent 81 camaro *wantin z28*

man im 15 and i want a 81 camaro, i found out about a old guy who was gonna take his to the shrdder it neededa little work but it sat for 10 years on blacktop so the frame was soo clean and the body didnt have any rust, it was just starting to rust, he wanted 700$ the day i found out about it.. my friend *older* guy went and bought it for his wife and now im screwed =( what should i do? i got about 1200 thats just to buy il get $ to fix up one when i get it. if u we're in my shoes wher would u go lookin? i checkd trading post etc locally cant find anything i heard about a old lady with a 81 camaro not a z but heck better then nothing for 800$ supposibly realy good just little surface rust, prolly my best bet but the guy hasnt called me about it, i asked him to find it forme..

i see alot of em i kno

but for the most part ive seen them way over priced or in to bad a shape for me to fix up what would u expect me to pay for a beginner project 81z28?

An '81 Camaro is the exact same car as any of the 2nd gen F bodies 1970 to 1981 with only a few styling and interior changes. Does the car HAVE to be an '81? If you open up your search to cover the other years I think you would find a lot more available...
