I'd like to see the parts list and cost for that engine, bet there ain't a stock part, even a bolt or screw, in it. I'm betting $16,000+ cost. Bowtie V6 block, race heads, race crank, race everything, the best available.

What about the Buick Grand National, I have seen them with obscene amount of HP. Yes I realize this is a zombie thread.

The 4.3L v6 is pretty tough and has more potential to build power over the 3.8L I think without the turbo. And super charged it will get to 500hp.. I'm getting around 300hp with what I am using right now.

. Yeah, old thread, but still of interest to many people...

. What size valves do the true Vortec 4.3L heads come with stock? Any idea of port size?
.

Same as a 350 - 1.94 intake and 1.60 exhaust.. They are also enlargable to 2.02. Biggest advantage I think is the heart shape combustion chambers..

. I think the ports are also bigger than any previous heads... a little bigger even than the spec.s say they are... plus, they brought back higher compression ratios... up from the actual 7's:1 called '8.5' of the early 1970's and some 1980's engines...
