Trying to get a answer on springs on dart heads?
hey guys..
I bet you guys are just about sick of all my question's about my car this past week lol but sorry i got to ask something again some of you on here might already read a past post on here that said a guy had a set of used dart heads 4-sale? long story short im thinking about buying them off this guy ok, but im having a little trouble getting some real good info on the style heads he has..... the part number is dart iron 10621122p...... ok here is what i know from jegs site they said 72cc, 205 valve's, straight or angle plug, and there good for 620 lift........ thats good info BUT WHAT I NEED TO KNOW the springs on them heads are good to 620max lift they dont say anything about the minimum lift cam you can run with those springs....... I have a 515 lift in the car now and i think the springs on those heads might eat the lobes of my cam???? Don't get me wrong i know i can buy the springs that matches my cam but that gets up in the bucks$$$ u know,,,,,,, and if i had to buy new springs it would be cheaper to just get a brand new set of heads with the springs i need already on them u know and save money.... If the 620 max spring would be ok for my cam it would be a different story...... any info would be great THANKS |

Very good questions for your cam grinder.

If you're concerned with an issue like that then yes, contact the cam manufacturer. Maybe Dart directly. You can circumvent that concern by buying a set of bare heads and adding the other valvetrain parts yourself and getting the springs the cam manufacturer recommends.

tiresmoke55 you need to know what the seat pressure of those springs are also the open at your 515'' lift.you could also if pressure is to high remove the triple spring or inner spring to get what you need.i agree that your probably to high on onen pressure.i ran a 510''lift 280dur solid lift cam and pressures were 165lb. seat and 355lb.open.
just throwing #'s at ya |
