Tucker/Whitewalls/Dupont #7 Black
Remember the Tucker movie? In the 1980's I met the man that painted the whitewalls on many of these cars for the movie. He lived in Canoga Park. He spun and trimed 2 1/2"the rubber off my Bug Eye Sprite radial blackwalls. This so he could spin the tires and paint 2 1/2 in. whitewall rings on them.
He was anti-silicone spray for the tires. He recommended Dupont #7 mixed 50/50 with gasoline. I may still have some of that mixture in the garage. Mixed with gasoline it applied "watery." I found that using the gasoline mixture he recommended gave the tire a NEW look instead of a painted look. I wish I could find out who took over his business. The process was relatively economical:allowed the use of radials:and gave my bug eye that vintage "Circus Wagon" look that I loved. Robert Bingham |

White Wall Machine
I know your post is over 2 years old but just ran across it... My dad was the "white wall man" in the Northern Virginia area for 20+ years. He is now in his late 70's and can't lift the machine anymore. He actually has one complete machine and enough parts to make a second machine. He is willing to part with them if you would like to buy it (them).
