Question Tuning an Edelbrock I'm gaging!

I have a 600 CFM square bore carb on a pretty stock 350 Chevy with a manual choke. The motor starts right up and runs fine other than sometimes on a real hard right turn, the motor stumbles a little. The problem is, if I start this thing in the garage I can kill the whole family with the fumes!! I actually leave my garage door open for a while after I park in the garage to let out the fumes. Carbs are not my forte'..give me dirtbike carb and I'll struggle through Edelbrock I figured I'd ask the experts!! Anyone have any tips or suggestions for websites??? Thanks HotRod
