My sbc with dual 450's has a dead spot off idle. I am running progressive linkage off the front carb. Is it better to run off the back carb, would larger squirters help

I run duals and use the rear carb. for the primary. A short test is to run off each carb. one at a time to see if one particular carb. has a problem.
The reason for running off the rear carb is that the front two barrels are the closest to center of the motor than the front two of the front carb.

I give it a shot, if it works , it may be an SOB to change the progressive linkage. What makes it weird, is that i only had a slight problem till I bought new 450's
