Turbo 350 not 400

How do I know for sure that the Transmission I have is a 350 and not a 400, I can't find any numbers at all on it. The tail shift is 6 inches and the overall lenth of the tranny is roughly 28 inchs.

Check the shape of the pan and then go here to confirm which trans you have.

on the main tranny/rear end page there is a sticky at the top that will help you ID the tranny .

easy way to tell...the output shaft on a 400 is about the size of a pop can while the 350 is much smaller..and the 400 has a threaded hole in the center of the out put shaft

Not all t-400 output shafts have threaded holes in them. The threaded holes were on bolt - on yoke style shafts for the trannys in trucks
