Post Turbo 350 Trans Vacuum Signal?

Where should a turbo 350 GM trans get its vacuum signal? From the intake manifold like the power brakes or the throttle signal from the carburator like the distributor?

I know the throttle cable is responsible for the kick down under hard acceleration but what does the vacuum signal do?

Thanks,
Jim

54chevy, the vac signal should be manifold vac. the vac modulator ,helps control the shift points of the trans, under different engine loads.
