turbo 350 to turbo 700r?

so i was wondering, will a turbo 700 ( 2wd ) bolt in place of a turbo 350 ( 2wd )? would the flywheel have to go with the 700 onto the engine, or is the turbo 350s flywheel fine? will the splined shaft slip into the 700?

It will bolt in using the same flywheel and the same driveshaft yoke. The 700 is longer, will require you to move the trans crossmember back on the frame to the same point as a TH-400 would mount, and you will have to shorten the driveshaft 3"+ as the 700 is longer here also. This is assuming you have the common short tail 350 trans, you would need a longer shaft if the 350 you have is the long tail truck version.

It is not a simple 1 to 1 bolt-in, you will have to move and modify things either way.

i have heard they are longer, well i just got a front driveshaft lengthened the other day for my 4x4 was about 80$, so i guess if it needs to get cut i can go there. ( it is a short tail 350 ) well, as long as i just gotta move the cross member mount, thats not too bad. ( that and the driveshaft mod ) but the flywheel that went to the 350 is fine? this is the 4th tranny ive put in this ice cream truck . first was my fault, didnt assemble with converter INSIDE tranny, so after a loud clunk as i forced it together, i find out u have to do it with converter in tranny ( destroyed front pump ) the 2nd was bad ( tried saveing $ from junkyard, ) the 3rd failed , not sure why, but found what looked like cloth pieces in fluid.....

well jobs done, was done a few hrs ago, came out of the 87 chev truck and into the ic truck. and you know, they were the same size. im glad i just got out there and did it, now i still got a tbi 350 engine for whenever i need it. the linkage had to be fabricated a little to compensate for a additional gear, but runs fine.
