Angry Turbo 400

I just bought a 68 Chevy c10 with 350/400 turbo trans
My question is after about a month of driving around I
notice that after the truck sit's for awhile when I go from park to drive or reverse it sometimes takes up to 60 seconds before
the trans goes into gear. Fluid level is fine. Trans mission doesn't slip while driving. The previous owner told me the transmission was rebuilt and had a shift kit installed.
Help!!! any idea's on what may be wrong????
Thanks Harvey
