Post turbo 400 questions?

Hello.
I heard that a turbo 400 wouldnt swap with a T350 easily because the yolk was different? Is this true? What horspower levels would a T400 handle and a T350 compared? Tnx, HG

Cool

I've built T-400's with special parts in them for alcohol burning funny cars.. The alcohol funny cars seem to like the 3 speed trannys.

A special input shaft for this application is $400.00+

The alcohol guys tell us they make 1800-2000 horse power.

The output shaft of the T-400 is larger than a T-350.......

I hear a stock th400 can handle around 600-800 horsepower, the only modification would be a sprag type intermediate one way clutch and a shift kit. I like the transgo 1&2 kit for a th400.
For swapping the crossmember needs to be moved back (if you had a th350) and the th400 yolk needs to be installed on the driveshaft, most of the time the driveshaft will need to be shortened, even though the trans cases measure the same the th400 yolk doesn't go in all the way like the th350.

Regarding swapping the 350 with a 400, the number of yoke splines are different but it's just a matter of getting a 400 yoke. Both yoke will fit your existing drive shaft, however, being that the length of the transmission are different, you'll have to move the transmission mount accordingly and have the drive shaft shorten. This is dependant on the difference in transmission length.

There are 3 different lenghts Turbo 400's.

They can vary by almost 10 inches.

They also have at least 2 different rear yoke size seals.
