Post Turbo-Hydramatic overhaul

Rebuilding the thm-400 and can not get the intermediate clutch out of the casing.

did you remove the snap ring that is on top of the intermediate pressure plate?

Yes I have removed the snap ring and turned the trans on its end and tried to shock it out, but still no go.
