i turn the key to my chevy 85 pick up and no lights come i have full power in my battery. My headlights are strong and i had the battery tested. Home come i have no power when i turn the key. Is my ignition switch broken? Could this be. i had a loose ground so i tighted it up would this make the swith possibly short out?

I`m not much on electrical, but years ago I had a problem similiar, the wires running to the starter have fusible links in them, one of mine were blown, the lights worked but not much else did. Check the connection at the starter and check your fusible links. if you do have a fusible link blown, make sure you replace it with one, Never run one without it, A under hood fire is no fun.

One of the safety switches? Neutral safety switch if it's an automatic or the clutch depressed switch for a manual trans. Probably not the problem but you never know.
