turn signal canceling - after market wheel
While I had my steering column and wheel all apart to replace the top bearing I figured I'd try to rig up my turn signal canceling mechanism (which currently operates by hand canceling). But I'm stumped as to how to do it. This is a '78 Ford E-150 column and it has a Superior Wheel with an adapter to mate the wheel to the spline. The "switch" portion of the turn signal is in the column and appears to be in good shape but nothing came with the wheel adapter to do the canceling. I realize these canceling mechanisms are different for different makes/models - so if someone knows what the original E-150 canceling cam or canceling ring looked like it might be helpful in figuring out a new set up. Also, are there any universal type after market units available? The only thing I can find that even comes close with a web search is at the Grant web site - but it's pretty vague in terms of how it works or whether I might be able to use it.
Anybody ever cobble one of these together?
