turn signals on 1965 Chevelle

I have been trying to help a neighbor to complete his 1965 Chevelle SS. The problem we are having at the time is the turn signals. We have checked out all the cables and have replaced them 3 times with backups my neighbor had. The right turn signal flashes bright and works fine. The left side (from the drivers seat) blights very dim and also lights the right side very dim and it blinks. The parking light only works on the right side. The left one does not work. Both dash lights work fine. The rear lights all work normally. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks

Doc here,

You have the left side turnsignal lamps cross-wired to the tail park filament either front or rear ..you need to find the cross wire and move it back to the right element..

The system is lower (less bright filament ) is tail lamp / parkers ONLY

The upper (brighter filament ) is Brake lamp / turn-signals ONLY, which run through the turnsignal switch..

Cross-wiring them removes the isolation and just opens the flasher unit..and nothing occurs..except maybe 4 lit bulbs at each corner of the car.

As always, we assume you already have inspected the grounds at the sockets/buckets, and deemed them as good..and the proper bulbs are in place..
