TV Cable Brackets

I have an 86 Camaro Z28 that I am running a Carter AFB and Holley Street Dominator dual plane intake with, and a 700r4. It was originally a TPI car that I had bought as a parts car with an L69/Qjet/A4, and plans where changed due to a spouses unforeseen interest in this particular car haha.

I currently have the OEM cable bracket for the manifold, and a TCI bracket. Both have provisions for cruise, throttle, and TV cables.

I also have an adapter that bolts onto the carb linkage to allow both throttle and the TV, it's a Summit part.

My question lies with the slack in the TV cable- there still seems to be too much even with the TCI bracket, regardless of how I adjust the TV cable.

Has anyone ran a similar combo? What did you do for the brackets (manifold and carb), as well as the cable (I have been running an OE TV cable).

Also, has anyone tried the 'adjustable' brackets? Are they just cheap POS junk, or are they worth the $20?

THANKS in advance!!!

TV cable adjustment on a GM OD tranny is not an 'eye-ball' exercise. It is a very precise adjustment in dimension (0.001" accuracy required) and geometry (cable needs to be displaced X" for X degrees of throttle displacement). Dump the cheapie brackets and get an engineered one from BowTie Overdrives.
