TV dinners!

I see that the man who invented TV dinners has died.

Rest in peace, dude, you kept me from being hungry many a time.

I find it ironic that the guy that made a piece of meat go from freezer to oven, is well, a piece of meat that is going into a freezer, then into an oven...

Yep. I remember playing that song in the wedding band I was in during the mid-80s. That song and "Tiny Bubbles".

tom

We used to do "Don't Fear The Reaper" by BOC. I didn't have a cowbell (I was the drummer) so I used to whack my cymbal stand. "MORE CYMBAL STAND!!"

yeah with that little green stop-motion playdoh guy coming out the tray. makes me think of the movie Ghoulies.

speaking of stop-motion, I never realized at the time how bad the animation in Robocop was for the big gatlin gunner robot. I just saw it again a few months ago. Remember how it squealed like a pig when it fell down the stairs?

I'm getting off topic.

TV dinners: cool tune, bad food.

Space Oddity and Ashes to Ashes by David Bowie both talk about Major Tom. They are an allegory for a heroin trip.

In Ashes to Ashes Major Tom is lost in space but he's happy there.

Good tunes. bad junk.

1. you never said where you got your user name. Mine is from Chevelle Super Sport (thats obvious) and in 1970 the top engine was the 450hp 454, engine code LS6, ta-da. Not real creative but it works. I'm considering Mattnotdoormat as a user name, something different.

2. I never knew it was an allegory for a heroin trip. I did understand that Major Tom was lost in space and seemed happy up there.

3. Is Tom Petty's "mary jane's last dance" an allegory for "smoking the last joint"?

4. Is this the "official Tom thread"... MachineShopTom, Major Tom, Tom Petty, any other Tom's out there?
