two holley questions

My carb has a #31 squirter in the primary (none in secondary its vacuum) I have a double pumper that I'm not using that has a #31 in the secondary. The one in the carb I'm using is a regular squirter,the other one is the type that has little tubes sticking out . Is there any advantage as to using one or the other?

The other thing, I've read that when adjusting idle speed that primary and secondary butterflys should be adjusted the same amount,but as far as I know you have to take the carb off to get at the secondary adjustment screw. Has anyone ever replaced that screw with a longer screw with maybe an allen-head or hex end? If so what size threads are in there? Or how else do you get at it with the carb in place? I have a 1" spacer under the carb,so its not real close to the manifold

The squirters which have the tube just direct the fuel better, that;s really the only difference. As far as that adjustment screw goes, I changed mine to an allen head and shortened up an allen wrench to fit. If I remember it's a 10-32 thread or could be a 10-24. If you take it out, look to see the threads, if it's looks like a fine thread it's 10-32 if not then 10-24
